Beta 76: check for Claude updates with Check now
Beta 76 shipped on 1 November 2026, bringing manual control over your Claude updates in OffiAI. You can now check for updates by clicking Check now, choose when to install them, and keep your working version if an update fails.

What changed for you
OffiAI no longer checks for Claude updates automatically. Starting the app, reading status, and restarting request no updates, regardless of previous timestamps.
An update check runs only when you click Check now. Explicit checks fetch metadata only.
When an update is available, you decide when to install it with a separate click. Updates are single-flight and can be cancelled while in progress. If a check or an update fails, your working version stays available so your setup continues to work. In addition, terminal integration is explicit and provides success and failure feedback.
How to use it
To check for updates, go to the local Claude setup area in OffiAI. Click Check now to see if a new release is available. When an update candidate appears, click the separate update option to install it. The setup interface provides outcome messages and focus in English, Spanish, and German.
An honest limit
One limit to keep in mind is that version cleanup only takes effect at the next start. OffiAI retains your prior version as a fallback, and pruning down to two versions happens only when you launch the app rather than immediately after an update.
