Connect OffiAI to the Claude Code CLI
No plugin and no hooks. OffiAI reads the Claude Code sessions on your Mac, and a session takes a desk as soon as it is working (thinking, reading, running a command or editing). An idle session keeps its desk (labelled Idle) while it is still open; when a session ends, its desk is freed after 10 minutes. Nothing changes in how you start claude.
How it works today
The Claude Code CLI keeps a list of its sessions and a transcript of each one in its folder under ~/.claude on your Mac. OffiAI reads those files locally and follows along as they change.
- Every working session gets its own desk, up to the desks in your office.
- The robot shows what the session is doing: thinking, reading, running a command or editing.
- When several sessions are busy at once, the others keep working at their desks as holograms.
You can also start work from OffiAI: click the round reception pad, choose a working folder and write the task, and OffiAI starts a Claude Code session there, at a free desk. Follow-ups continue the same session, also after a restart of the app. Since beta 40, Reception can also start Codex and Gemini (the Antigravity CLI) when they are installed.
What stays on your Mac
OffiAI reads these files on your Mac and writes to Claude Code only when you send a message or brief from OffiAI. It does not send your sessions, prompts, transcripts or file contents anywhere; it has no server that would receive them. Claude Code itself works exactly as before.
Set it up
- Install OffiAI. Download it from the releases page and move it to Applications. OffiAI is a free public preview for Macs with Apple silicon.
- Run
claudein a terminal, as you normally do. Claude Code must be installed and signed in (claude auth login): version 2.1.272 or newer, below 2.2, to see sessions, and 2.1.302 or newer to start or continue work from OffiAI (check withclaude --version). Claude Code 2.2 is not supported yet. OffiAI reads the standard~/.claudefolder. - Open OffiAI. Sessions that are working appear at desks; send a prompt if your office is empty. There is no setup screen yet: if no desk fills up, click the round reception pad in the middle of the office. It tells you whether Claude Code is installed, signed in and a supported version.
Coming next
Continuing a Claude Code session in your terminal straight from its desk. Everything on this page works without it.
