Connect OffiAI to Claude Cowork on macOS

Install one plugin file in the Claude desktop app. Ask Claude to report a conversation and it shows up at a desk in OffiAI with the short progress notes Claude sends; it leaves when you quit the Claude app.

Beta 76 is out: the OffiAI app for macOS (notarised DMG) and plugin 0.4.0 (needs beta 23 or newer) are on the release page. Each reported conversation gets its own desk with Claude’s notes, and you can ask Claude something new right from a Cowork desk in OffiAI, or use Send now (opt-in).

Download offiai.plugin (plugin 0.4.0)

What you need

Install the plugin

  1. Download offiai.plugin. Direct link: offiai.plugin (8 KB; the app DMG and all releases: GitHub).
  2. Install it in the Claude app. Open Plugins, then My Uploads, choose upload or install, and pick the file. The app warns that the plugin includes a local MCP server (that is the bridge, running on your Mac) — choose Continue. Alternatively choose Add marketplace, enter offiai/claude-plugins and install offiai from there (source on GitHub).
  3. Start a conversation and ask Claude to show it in OffiAI, for example: “Report this conversation to OffiAI.” The first time Claude asks to use an offiai tool, choose Always allow.
  4. Done. The conversation appears at a desk in OffiAI.

Claude decides when to send a progress note, so a desk can sit quiet for a while. OffiAI shows when it last heard from the conversation; it never makes up work. In this preview Claude reports when you ask it to; reporting every conversation on its own is the next step.

Ask Claude from OffiAI

Click a Cowork desk in OffiAI, write a question in its side panel and press New Cowork task. The Claude app opens a new Cowork task with your text filled in, followed by the line (from OffiAI). Claude shows a caution banner for text that comes from a link; that is expected. Nothing is sent until you press send in Claude. Claude is instructed to also send a copy of its answer to OffiAI, so the answer appears in the side panel of the new task’s desk too. For this, OffiAI does not type into the Claude app and needs no extra macOS permission.

To continue a conversation, click its desk and press Open in Claude: the Claude app opens exactly that conversation (plugin 0.3.2 or newer).

Send now (beta 19 or newer, off by default): turn on Send from OffiAI into Claude conversations in OffiAI’s settings, and a Cowork desk’s panel gets a Send now button. When you press it, OffiAI opens that conversation in the Claude app and types your text there (at most 2,000 characters). macOS asks once to allow OffiAI under Privacy & Security → Accessibility. OffiAI types only into an empty message box of that conversation, presses Return only when the box shows exactly your text, and never uses the clipboard.

Troubleshooting

Nothing appears in OffiAI
Check that OffiAI is open and that Claude Cowork is On under OffiAI Settings → Agents in the office (changes apply after you reopen OffiAI), then ask Claude to report the conversation to OffiAI.
Claude says OffiAI’s bridge did not start
The bridge needs Node.js 18 or newer. Install it from nodejs.org, then quit and restart the Claude app.
Send now says Claude did not show the conversation
The first Send now to a conversation needs to see Claude switch to it. If Claude already shows that conversation, or has no window open, open another conversation in Claude and press Send now again. Nothing was typed.

Privacy

OffiAI receives only: session start/end/heartbeat, the conversation’s label and id, an optional task title, the one-line summaries Claude chooses to send through offiai_event, and — only for a task you started with New Cowork task — a copy of Claude’s answer to that message (at most 2,000 characters, through offiai_reply; the copy contains whatever the answer contains). Apart from those answer copies it never receives tool inputs or outputs, file contents or transcripts. The bridge talks to OffiAI only over 127.0.0.1; OffiAI has no server. Cowork itself runs in Anthropic’s cloud, where Claude writes these notes.
