Claude tasks start again
Beta 50, released on 29 October 2026, fixes an issue where a desk saved under another Claude account blocked every Claude task. You can now start new Claude Code tasks and queue work even when a desk was saved under another Claude account.

What changed
From beta 46 to beta 49, a single desk saved under a different Claude account stopped Claude Code entirely. Reception showed “Claude Code setup failed: saved conversation could not be checked. Retry.” Clicking “Retry” changed nothing. “Start at a desk” and “Add to the line” stayed disabled, so no Claude task could start on your Mac or in the remote office. Setup treated that one desk as a failure of Claude Code as a whole.
Beta 50 checks that desk on its own instead. One old desk no longer stops your new work.
How to use it
When you open the app, look at Reception. It now shows “Claude Code ready. Choose a folder and describe the work.”
To start immediately, choose a folder, describe your work, and click “Start at a desk”. If you want to queue tasks, click “Add to the line”. Queued tasks take the next free desk and answer normally.
Current limits
Other setup problems still show their own message in Reception. These include a missing working folder or a missing conversation file. In addition, the saved conversation that belongs to the other account is not resumed in this office. It simply waits on its desk as it was.
