Beta 90: publishing availability and desk status
OffiAI beta 90 works to explain why publishing is unavailable instead of saying it is off, though desks do not always report their real status yet. In our testing, a new desk can still display a notice stating that publishing is not available on this desk while the host is unavailable.

What changed
When publishing was enabled on your host Mac but unavailable, earlier versions could give misleading feedback. Desks and Reports could claim that publishing was turned off, equating a host failure or missing desk capability with an inactive setting.
For Codex desks, the app is intended to distinguish whether your host can publish from whether a desk lacks the capability. Claude sessions are also meant to carry the actual publishing state when created or resumed. We have not yet verified either with a real publication run. Instead of an unexplained failure or an incorrect notice that the feature is off, the app works to show why publishing cannot run.
Where to look
Desks, Reports, and Agents are designed to show host reasons in your language. If you need to inspect your configuration, find it in Settings at Settings → Agents. The app provides guidance to visit Settings only when publishing is turned off. When publishing is on but unavailable, look for the host reason on your desk, in Reports, or in Agents.
What we found
In our check of beta 90, desk limitations still leak into non-On states. A new desk can still display a notice stating that publishing is not available on this desk while the host is unavailable, and desk notices can show a lowercase fragment. We also have not verified unknown, legacy, or endpoint failure reasons in the interface, which require a host with no other running instance.
