A stopped Codex desk keeps its last answer
OffiAI beta 55 is out, dated 30 October 2026. It changes one thing for people who run Codex at their desks: stopping a Codex session keeps its last completed answer visible on the ended desk.

What changed
Before this change, the question after Stop was whether the last answer would still be on the desk. In beta 55 the answer to that is yes, as long as the session completed an answer before you stopped it.
The change is about Codex sessions. When one of them is stopped, the desk shows the session as ended, and the last completed answer of that session stays visible on it.
The words on the desk do not change. The existing labels and fallback text remain unchanged in English, Spanish and German, so nothing new needs to be learned or translated.
How to use it
Stop a Codex session in the usual way. After it has ended, its last completed answer is still visible on the ended desk. There is no extra step.
What it does not do
The desk keeps a completed answer only. If you stop a Codex session before any answer has completed, there is no completed answer to keep, and the existing message that no answer is available can still appear on the desk.
This release does not change that message. The existing English, Spanish and German fallback text stays as it is.
